Student Ministry Summer Interns 2025
If you have school-aged children, you know how hard it is to keep kids engaged over their summer break. This makes the summer a key time in student ministry because kids want to spend more time with each other and our staff. To help us, we hire interns each summer to make sure every one of our students is being reached over the summer. This year, we have an all-star team of interns including some former students and some new faces. We are looking forward to what God will accomplish in this season of our students' lives, especially through the help of our interns.
Meet Our Summer Interns:
Houston Heinrich
Hey! I am Houston Heinrich, and I am from Durham, NC. I just completed my sophomore year at Wheaton College, where I am majoring in Bible and Theology. I’m a big movie enthusiast, and I believe some of life’s best conversations happen over a shared meal with friends. My singular focus doing this internship is: How can I, today, authentically connect with students in a way that reflects God’s profound love for them? And how can we both grow deeper in our personal relationships with Jesus? I am eager to see how God works through this season of intentional discipleship.
Haley McCarver
Hey, Westminster. I’m Haley McCarver and I from Rock Hill, SC. Currently, I am studying Biology at Clemson University. Growing up here, as a member at Westminster, this church, and specifically the youth program, has given so much to me and I am really excited to get to give back and serve my church through growing relationships with students I know and creating new ones with students I have yet to meet. I love to read, walk, listen to music, and spend time at the beach with my family. One thing you may not know about me is that I can play the ukulele.
Izzy Miserendino
My name is Izzy Miserendino, and I am from Fort Mill, SC. I attend University of South Carolina Upstate, where I am majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in Coaching. I enjoy running, cooking, hiking, golfing, and playing pickleball. I cannot wait to spend time with students this summer, particularly during The Edge and Project Sweat. Since I was involved in the youth ministry here as a student, I know how impactful both of these trips are for our students. One fun fact about me is that I have hiked in 18 national parks.
Hayden Vance
I’m Hayden Vance and I grew up here in Rock Hill, SC. Currently, I am attending Western Carolina University where I am studying Sports Management and Marketing. In my free time I enjoy spending time outdoors whether playing sports, fishing, hiking, or camping. I have recently gotten into long distance running, and I just completed my first half-marathon. In this internship, I am excited to build relationships with the students, grow in my faith, and learn how to better share the Lord’s amazing gospel.
Students, get ready for an action-packed summer break filled with exciting activities and the opportunity to make many new friends! Check out our full schedule events and be sure to follow @wpc_students on Instagram to stay up to date on all events.
