Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. - Proverbs 27:17
Enjoy meaningful friendships with other men as we study the Bible and grow in our walk with God. Groups meet twice monthly two semesters per year: fall and spring.
How’s your view of Jesus?
A “decaffeinated, domesticated, junior varsity view”?
Or “a full color, three dimensional, truly Biblical view”?
Gentle and Lowly by Dane Ortland will form the centerpiece of our focus on finding greater gospel intimacy within us and greater gospel neighboring through us.
What people are saying about Gentle and Lowly:
“Gentle and Lowly has helped me like no other book to better understand the heart of Jesus and the meaning of love.” – Don Gillespie (WPC ruling elder & director of pastoral care)
“This book helped me see that the personal nature of God is his normal stance toward me. Often, I’ve operated more from a view of God’s being scary and powerful as he teaches and grows me, and I felt like that is his nature. Now, because of understanding the heart of Jesus better, I understand God’s nature toward me and desire for me is personal intimacy.” – John Fussell (Winthrop student & lifelong WPC member)
“As a PCA minister for over 40 years, I’ve read lots of books – some good, some so-so and only a few great. Gentle and Lowly is a great book. It is the most spiritually helpful book I have read in 10 years, giving me a deeper, fuller picture of who Jesus really is and a renewed confidence in the gospel. Gentle and Lowly has the power to change your life if you take the time to look deeply into the heart of Jesus.” – Lee Ferguson (PCA minister and SALT crew chief)
